Мачка не воли власника?

One fine day, the owner of a cat may suddenly think that she hates him. This is especially true if you have independent animals, and you are their long-term owner.

There are many myths about cats, and one of the most common is that they are aloof creatures. It is true that they are independent, but they are social animals, though different from dogs. How can you explain the behavior of your fluffy beauty?

Инстинкти

John Bradshaw, author of Cat Sense, explains to NPR that feline instincts can make you think a cat doesn’t care about its owner or owner at all: “They come from solitary animals who never needed social system.”

Unlike dogs that move in packs, cats are, for the most part, solitary hunters, accustomed to surviving on their own. But indoor domesticated animals don’t need to hunt for food (although they do hunt for prey in the form of toys and your socks) and rely entirely on their owners for survival. A cat needs you to meet its needs for food, water, health and love, but independence – as a trait of its character – does not disappear anywhere!

She needs freedom

It would seem that this is contrary to common sense, but if you give your cat more freedom, your mutual affection will become stronger. The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals recommends “allowing the cat to enter all rooms” rather than limiting it to one or two. A happy cat is one that has its own place (or two or three) in the house, where you can take a break from annoying people.

When you bring a new kitten or adult pet into the house, they will probably find a lot of ways to get your attention. On the other hand, the cat may hide from you or act aloof, making you think that he does not love you. But this is not so at all. It’s not about you, it’s about her.

She can behave so willfully only because she has not often been among people. To strengthen your friendship with a new pet, PetMD recommends letting your cat take the first step instead of chasing after her so she knows it’s up to her, or at least gives her the feeling. You can always lure her out of hiding by offering her a treat. Your pet will trust you more if she has her own private place to hide. Once she has claimed such a place (under the bed, behind the couch), let her hide there whenever she wants.

As your cat’s needs change, your approach to caring for your cat needs to change accordingly. Many older animals need more comfortable conditions than before. In addition to paying close attention to changing health needs, the authors of the PetMD portal note, in order to maintain and strengthen your friendship, you need to give it more affection and an easily accessible place to relax. When the cat understands that you can be trusted, she will thank you with love and devotion.

Does your cat hate you? Not!

The cat needs your love. She needs to be alone to rest and “recharge”, but when she wakes up, she will simply not be recognized. Many cats like to hide for hours somewhere in the house, only to suddenly appear and completely capture your attention. Do not deny her this pleasure. Your love is shown not only in petting and playing, but also when you offer her fresh food and water, comb her hair, take care of her health and regularly clean her litter box (every day is best, especially if you have several cats).

Find a middle ground between generous expression of love and giving to the cat sufficient freedom means building a long and happy relationship with her.
