Curious is the history of the creation of the Bengal cat breed. Incredibly beautiful leopard cats in Asia were in unenviable conditions, as they were actively hunted by poachers. Killing adults, they sold the cubs for money to ordinary tourists. Among these tourists was the scientist Jane Mill, who also could not resist and bought this miracle of nature for herself.

The natural desire of the scientist was the breeding of this amazing breed, for which she spent a lot of time and effort. The fact is that the first male cats bred were not capable of reproduction. But Mill was not stopped by difficulties, and in 1983 the breed was officially registered. Due to their beautiful coloration, Bengal cats soon gained fans all over the world.

If we talk about catteries of Bengal cats, then at present they can be found in a variety of countries, but most of them are in the USA, which is the historical homeland of the breed. In Ukraine, Bengals began to breed not so long ago, firstly, this process is quite complicated, and secondly, Bengal cats are not a cheap pleasure.

How do these graceful creatures differ from their counterparts? The first thing that catches your eye is an unusual, wild color and muscular body.

They are independent by nature and will not allow themselves to be picked up once again, especially by strangers. If a bengal wants attention, he will definitely let his owner know about it. The temperament of these cats should be taken into account.

In catteries in the USA and Germany, all the necessary conditions are created for cats, including spacious, comfortable rooms in which cats do not run wild and learn to behave appropriately. This nursery called “Jaguar Jungle” employs first-class specialists who are professionals in their field. Most often here there is a spotted color of cats.

It is a mistake to think that Bengal cats are aggressive. After all, they were bred as pets, and, therefore, their behavior is adequate. But if we are talking about temperament, then such cats are quite independent, although they are devoted to their master.

If you decide to get a Bengal, you should consider the pros and cons. Representatives of this breed are very active and playful, they need enough space for activities, preferably if it is some kind of play structure. Remember that cats of this breed jump high and can conquer any height, so you also need to provide them with a safe space so that the hunting instinct does not harm your pet’s health. Make sure that there are always mosquito nets on the windows, and the windows themselves are not wide open.

If you live in a private house, then it is best to build a spacious aviary for the cat. And when living in an apartment, do not risk walking the Bengal freely, otherwise he may get lost.

Since Bengal cats are shorthaired, they hardly shed. This frees the owners from frequent bathing and combing.

The appearance and character of Bengal cats conquer at first sight, so if you decide to get a cat of this breed, you will not regret it.
