Агассиз коридор
Corydoras Agassiz or Spotted Cory, scientific name Corydoras agassizii, belongs to the Callichthyidae family. Named in honor of the explorer and naturalist Jean Louis Rodolphe Agassiz (fr. Jean Louis Rodolphe Agassiz). Catfish lives in the basin of the Solimões River (port. Rio Solimões) in the upper part of the Amazon in the territory of modern Brazil and Peru. There is no more precise information about the true distribution area of this species. It lives in small tributaries of a larger river, streams, backwaters and lakes formed as a result of flooding of forest areas.
Opis
Adult individuals reach a length of about 7 cm. The color of the body has a gray-pink tint, the pattern consists of numerous dark spots continuing on the fins and tail. On the dorsal fin and at its base on the body, as well as on the head, dark stripes-strokes are noticeable. Sexual dimorphism is weakly expressed, males are practically indistinguishable from females, the latter can be identified closer to spawning, when they become larger.
